MARKON UPDATE
New Contracts Manager
for the Traf昀椀c
Management Division Derek Munro
As an essential service provider the event was hosted
by Meon, Markon’s road marking paint supplier at the
Crieff Hydro Hotel in March 2025 and showcased the
latest in line marking and surface repair technologies,
including rapid-cure cold-applied MMA solutions and
MAGMA reinstatement solutions.

Derek started his career in the roadworks industry in
1985 with Strathclyde Regional Council, before swiftly
progressing through the ranks from operative to
supervisor. In 1998 he moved into the private sector
of traf昀椀c management and began to build his career in
managerial positions, eventually to Director level.
Derek has over 30 years’ experience in the traf昀椀c
management industry and joined Markon in October
2024 as Contracts Manager where he looks forward
to being a part of the growing traf昀椀c management
division and hopes to pass on his many years of
knowledge and expertise to other members of staff.
Attendees witnessed 昀椀rst-hand the latest
advancements in surface technology,
including:

and resources.
Project Update
Markon have recently completed the 昀椀rst of an anticipated 4 separate visits to Aberystwyth in Wales
to carry out works on the Aberystwyth Promenade Active Travel Improvements project for
Tregaron Trading Services.
The works will involve the application of 2169 square metres of Imprint to 12 separate locations within
Aberystwyth over a 5-month period.
Markon Signs Division have also been involved in the ongoing works on the A9 Cross Tay Link Project.
