NEW PLANT AND EQUIPMENT

See it, Snap it, Quality App it!
Have you ever been in a quarry or on a project site
and observed a product, placement or delivery
process that you thought may not be right? In
addition, not sure who to talk to about it?
We wanted to ensure that all questions or queries about our products
and placement delivery processes are addressed without delay at the
time of observation.
As such, Leiths have developed a Quality Observation App that can be
used on all smartphones and tablets. When you see something that
does not look right, snap a photo or take a video, open the App, use
the drop down menus, describe what you see and where it is, upload
the photo or video and submit it.
Depending on the selected menu items, the App will determine the
relevant manager and send the quality observation directly to them so
appropriate action can be immediately taken.

In August this year, Leiths added a second bitumen tanker
to their fleet – a new DAF XF unit and Feldbinder stainless
steel insulated tanker.

The 480bhp lightweight ADR spec truck with stainless steel tanker trailer
will collect hot bulk bitumen and deliver it to our various asphalt production
plants.

September saw delivery of the first of four DAF XDC 8x4
tippers, the first in North East Scotland, and two more
Renault C Range tippers went on the road in October.

Operating at 32 tonnes when loaded, the trucks, fitted with Aliweld insulated
alloy tipper bodies, have the latest safety technology, including Advanced
Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with automatic emergency braking, lane
departure warning and side-scan sensors to warn the driver of vulnerable
road users in blind-spot areas. Fitted with sleeper cabs, these tippers will
operate across Scotland, delivering asphalt and aggregates wherever the
customer requires.

This real-time continual improvement tool is invaluable in ensuring
the quality of our production, delivery, handling and/or placement of
construction materials are maintained to a high standard.

continues to be “Built on Quality”.
